DESIGN FOR MANUFATURE(DFM)
Design for “x” is a general term used in the engineering world that serves as a placeholder for different design objectives. In Design for “x”, the variable x is interchangeable with one of many values depending on the particular objectives of the venture. The most common substitutes for “ x “include assembly (DfA), cost (DfC), logistics (DfL), manufacturability (DfM), reliability (DfR), serviceability and/or repairability (DfS) etc. Among these, we focus on DFM. In this way, we are able to guarantee that your products can be manufactured at low cost but good quality and by way of an efficient process.
In Design for Manufacture, we follow the “KISS” rule (Keep It Stupid & Simple), meaning we will always try to design the products to be as ¨stupid¨and simple as possible. We involve suppliers of manufacturing and materials and even packaging engineers in the design process in order to prevent future problems in the mass production process.
During the process, we offer a selection of materials that could be used for production and together with our customer´s decision, the expertise of our material engineers and the supplier´s support, we are able to provide first quotations of products at an early phase.
We believe good manufacturing design is the key point for a product´s success in its manufacturing life.
